Surrounded by some of Scotland finest outdoor activity areas, Creag Beag is an adventurer’s dream, located in the beautiful Boat of Garten just a little north of Aviemore, this modernly furnished cottage has everything you need to keep you going from the second you arrive.
The cottage itself is set next to the Abernethy Forest offering a fantastic backdrop with a variety of walks straight from the doorstep. Creag Beag comprises of 3 bedrooms (1 super king, 1 King and 1 triple bunk – lower double/single on top) and will sleep up to 7 people, making it an ideal cottage for bigger families as well as couples.
With a modern kitchen, fully integrated with 2 ovens, a kitchen island with induction hob, power sockets and two chef’s dining chairs. You are all set to either host a wonderful meal or if you fancy heading out for dinner you can always make your way 5 minutes down the road to the fantastic Anderson’s Restaurant.
The cottage comes with garden ground fully enclosed and safe for dogs and kids, a fire pit with a seated area in the garden and you are also welcome the use of the outdoor shed to store bikes/golf clubs/ ski equipment (the Boat of Garten golf club is just 5 minutes drive away and the cottage is on the Route 7 national cycle route). The cottage boasts a new extended outdoor decking area with lights and patio heater and also the installation of a new Hot Tub.
Please note that this cottage would not be very suitable for wheelchair users due to the small door frames within the property, however, there is ramp access at the rear for those who find steps difficult.
The surrounding area is packed with places to see and things to do, for golf lovers there are various Golf Courses nearby (Boat of Garten, Kingussie, Spey Valley, Grantown on Spey), if you are after an adventure there is the Landmark Forest Adventure Park (Carrbridge), and Rothiemurchus Centre (Offers various Outdoor activities e.g quad biking, pony trekking, archery). For the walking enthusiasts there is no shortage of hills to climb or Munro’s to ‘bag’ or for those who prefer to stay closer to the cottage then you can enjoy a variety of walks straight from the doorstep (along by the River Spey, through the forest or perhaps to the beautiful Loch Vaa).
For Outlander fans, the Culloden battlefield is a 40-minute drive north of Creag Beag. Where you can learn more about the history of the final confrontation of the Jacobite rising of 1745.
For those visiting in winter looking to hit the slopes for a bit of heather hopping on the pistes of Scotland. The Cairngorm Mountain Centre is just a short 30-minute drive away. The property has a secure shed to safley store bikes and skis.
Well behaved pets are welcome at Creag Beag, there will be a small cleaning surcharge of £30 applied to your booking fee.
The cottage is strictly non-smoking.
There is a Weber charcoal BBQ available for use, and if so it must be cleaned afterwards. All guests are required to buy their own charcoal.
