Highland Holiday Cottages

Beautiful cottages in a beautiful location. Great base for exploring the Cairngorms. The directions to and instructions for our arrival were sent to us via email and were spot on. When we arrived everything was in order and welcoming. There was a small welcome pack which included a pint of milk in the fridge for our first cuppa after a long journey. The dogs were even welcomed with some treats! This was appreciated as many holiday cottages provide wine or proscecco on rrival which this does not appeal to us. We stayed in ‘Hazel’ cottage. It was beautiful, very clean and with a well equipped kitchen. We loved having the downstairs bedroom and bathroom as there were only 2 of us. The bathroom was small and compact with a lovely heated towel rail which was handy. There was plenty of storage within the bathroom and bedroom. The bedding was of good quality, with the bed and pillows being comfortable. The front porch area was handy after a day of walking as it gave us somewhere to hang our coats and leave our shoes. The main living area had wood flooring which was great with 2 dogs and easy to keep clean. The sofas were comfortable and the smart TV worked perfectly. Internet connection was fabulous. The patio area was safe and secure with high quality table and chairs to sit and enjoy the view of the pond, woods and hills. Our dogs loved being outside watching the resident duck! The amenities were fab – the gym and games room are well equipped, clean and tidy although we didn’t use these. I used the washing maching once – the laundry room is well equipped and immaculately presented. The whole of the property is very well presented and maintained to a high standard. Recycling is encouraged and easy to adhere to. There is adequate parking near to the cottages. It is a beautiful holiday spot, in a beauitful area with stunning views and some lovely walks nearby which are accessible without having to drive anywhere. Newtonmore and Kingussie are beautiful, quaint towns nearby with amenities should you need them. There are also plenty of establishments for dining out should you wish. Aviemore resort is within half hour drive – there are many activities to participate in, and plenty of scenic walks should you wish to explore. There were 6 of us using 3 cottages, each couple having 2 dogs. These were welcomed in the cottages and everywhere we went. If I were to visit and stay in the area again, I would definitely stay at Highland Holiday Cottages. They were by far one of the best we have stayed in.

Annual Scottish getaway! Our third visit to the cottages, we love it here! We stayed in the Ash cottage which is lovely, clean and cosy, a nice place to relax after a days adventure with the dog. The kitchen facilities are excellent, we cooked in most nights. The outdoor enclosed space for our dog is perfect for a game of fetch. The bedroom is spacious and comfy. We love it as a home from home to explore the Scottish highlands, an excellent location for visiting the surrounding areas. Lots of activities and walks close by. Definitely be back!

One of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in Beautiful little cottage set in a courtyard of similar cottages. As an older couple the cottage was all on one level with its own little private garden which opened on to an enclosed large garden. The cottage had all the facilities you would need a comfy bed, ensuite bathroom, a well equipped kitchen and a cosy lounge. The cottage is located mid way between Dalwhinnie and Newtonmore and about 15 mins away from Aviemore. If you love the peace and quiet of the countryside, then this will be ideal for you. Finally, it is reassuring that the hosts are on site if needed, but are very discrete and offer you your privacy.

Wow what a place, hidden gem Well we booked 2 cottages Birch and Cedar for a week with friends and our dogs. Cottages are done to a really high standard. They are super comfortable and have everything you could possibly need. Even a goodie box which included treats for our pooch. The location is stunning, middle of nowhere with wonderful views, with easy links to Newtonmore and Dalwhinnie. The cottages were good value for money, given the quality of everything. Adam and Leanne were really helpful. We loved it that much, weve booked again for next year.
