At Breakish Cottage, you have the opportunity to stay in a tastefully remodeled 120-year-old croft on the Isle of Skye. Because the cottage is only a few miles from the Skye bridge, you are in the perfect location to arrive, relax, and then discover the treasures found within the Scottish Highlands.

On the main floor, you will find traditional architectural elements like exposed beams, the original staircase, and the lovingly restored original dormer windows. However, the interior is decorated in uplifting modern decor in an abundance of uplifting colors. Downstairs, you will find one bedroom outfitted with a double bed and an ensuite bathroom. Go upstairs to find two additional bedrooms, one featuring a double bed and the other two twin beds.

Both bathrooms feature heated towel racks and luxurious walk-in showers equipped with rainfall showerheads. To keep your clothes feeling as fresh and clean as you are during your stay, your party will have access to a washing machine and tumble dryer.

The spacious sitting area is graced by a vaulted ceiling, comfortable seating, and a wealth of natural light. From the living room, you can bask in views that overlook the island of Pabay. With the sea view, the sunsets at Breakish are simply unforgettable. A smart television equipped with Sky TV means that you can kick back with some of your favorite shows.

When your party is ready to eat, there is plenty of room for everyone at the custom-built table and chairs which were crafted by a local artisan. Outdoor furniture and a garden mean that your party will also be able to dine in the fresh air. As you feast, take in the dramatic views in their full glory.

With high-quality culinary equipment, the kitchen at Breakish Cottage is nothing short of a chef’s dream. Besides having access to fantastic appliances, you will be able to cook with some of the freshest seafood in Scotland. To source locally-caught fish and shellfish, the Fisherman’s Kitchen is only 10 minutes away in the village of Kyle of Lochalsh. On Wednesdays, their delivery van includes a route to Breakish, and you can arrange a delivery right to your door. If you do not feel like cooking, Fisherman’s Kitchen also offers takeaway. For everything else you need, Breakish Cottage is conveniently less than 10 minutes away from the co-op store.

While the cottage is an incredibly comfortable sanctuary, there is plenty nearby to explore. Anyone who loves mountain biking or hiking will find that Breakish Cottage makes the perfect home base. Take in some of the most ruggedly beautiful landscapes in the world by hiking to visit the Old Man of Storr or the Quiraing.

Beyond hiking, the Isle of Skye has activities to interest everyone. For those who enjoy culture and history, that could be a trip to Eilean Donan Castle or Dunvegan Castle & Gardens. Perhaps those in your party would like to discover the wildlife from the water by embarking on a boat tour from Elgol.
