Kilnbarn Cottage nestled between two sweeping sandy bays sits with its toes in the sea. Its picture windows give ocean views from every room. Beautifully presented in cozy Scandi style, it features an outdoor bath where guests can relax at one with nature and the elements.
Kilnbarn has been designed with “hygge” or the scottish version “coorie” in mind using colours drawn from the beach – its a cosy nest featuring calming colours, warm textures and a bit of retro fun here and there. The bedrooms are characterised by sumptuous beds you’ll just sink deep into. The kitchen features and aga range. The quirky bathroom facilities include an outdoor bath where you can lie watching the aurora, the stars and the sea.
Our trademark at Orkney Retreats is outstanding hospitality – the house contains all you could possibly want for a luxurious stay. We provide locally sourced essentials on arrival and make sure we welcome you with fresh coffee & home baking. We’re happy to collect your groceries order and put it in the pantry for you. Alternatively, you may wish to try one of our local restaurants or our in-house chef.
