About this listing
You don’t get much closer to the sea than this sparkling new luxury beachside property Morar Beach House “Camus Ciuin” with impressive interiors and ocean-view decks on the west coast of Scotland – a doorstep to your own carribean-esque white sandy beach.
Located on the coastal road at Tougal between the beautiful villages of Morar and Arisaig and just 3 miles from the bustling fishing port of Mallaig, you can be as relaxed and care free as you choose – dipping into the many activities and sightseeing opportunities on offer in the “outdoor capital of the highlands”. Skiing and mountain biking at Nevis Range, whale watching and island hopping in the summer, canoeing, kayaking, beachcombing, loch and sea fishing, munroing, walking or just simply learn about the land and its colourful past such as the fascinating connections with the SOE Special Operations Exceutive at the Land and Sea Centre just down the road in Arisaig.
With to-die-for views from Camus Ciuin you’d be forgiven if you didn’t venture further than the famous beach out front but once outside there’s an uninterrupted 3 miles of sandy beach to explore, perfect for family time and creating special memories. Head out onto the outdoor decking with walled garden for pre dinner drinks as the sun sets over the small isles.
This gorgeous new architect designed property has just been completed in 2018 with attention to detail at every turn. Modern and fresh, luxurious and sunlit this all-on-one level property takes open plan living to a new level and is purpose built for family time with fantastic entertaining space. When the night draws in there’s a cosy wood burning stove and with underfloor heating throughout where you can pad effortlessly across warm floors. Outside there is private parking and also a large enclosed seating area, perfect for a BBQ or family gathering.
With a location such as this you won’t want to leave Fido, and the property is pet-friendly accepting up to two well behaved dogs. Just bring their pet beds and bedding and don’t forget thier favourite toys.
The road to Morar takes you past stunning lochs, mountains, waterfalls, the sea, occasionally a steam train or stray red deer off the hill.
An iconic road trip up the West Coast on the famous A830, “Road to the Isles” also takes you past Glenfinnan, home of the famous Glenfinnan Monument and spectacular viaduct made famous by a little wizard in that flying car chase (Harry Potter). You’ll want to allow time to take photographs as the scenery is jaw-dropping.
Most visitors arrive by car via Fort William but you can arrive by boat from Skye, or the train which stops in Morar. If you are planning to fly, there are airports at Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness. There’s no direct train from Inverness but car hire facilites are excellent and the west coast railway line was voted one of the best in the Europe by Wanderlust magazine.
With beach credentials ranking as amongst the cleanest in Europe, warmed by the Gulf Stream they are perfect for paddling, snorkeling and swimming. There are spectacular walking routes and paths in the area including one along the banks of Loch Morar, the deepest stretch of fresh water in Europe, and reputed home of Nessie’s sister, Morag.
Camus Ciuin offers something different for all ages – whether its the wildlife, sealife, scenery, relaxation or together time you seek, your holiday will create lasting memories to treasure, in a truly magical west coast location.
