The secluded settlement of Bracorina is situated in Lochaber, located on the northern side of Loch Morar, just 5 km east of the village of Morar, at the end of a minor road. Boasting uninterrupted views over the dramatic landscape unique to the Highlands of Scotland, this charming restored schoolhouse is in an excellent location for exploring the nearby villages of Morar, Arisaig and Mallaig which are all within a 15 minute drive of the property. Share your views with only the wildlife insight and the outlying fields with grazing sheep and cattle for company. The Old Schoolhouse has been totally refurbished recently and offers.
Stay in a beautifully converted schoolhouse with period furniture, contemporary finishes throughout and natural features in keeping with the charm of the original building. The Schoolhouse offers accommodation for up to four guests comprising of one ensuite master bedroom and a sleeping mezzanine area with private toilet.
Entering the house from the front door you enter the dining room and kitchen. The well-appointed kitchen well has a cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer and offers stunning views to the rear of the property. The ensuite master bedroom with king-sized bed lies off the dining room and offers views over Loch Morar. The cosy living room also leads out to a mezzanine area which has windows to the front and rear of the property and patio doors out to the seating area with uninterrupted views. The owners have provided a good selection of books and games for entertainment as well as an Amazon Firestick for relaxing TV nights in. The spiral staircase leads to the mezzanine bedroom. There is a king-sized bed (not suitable for children) and a toilet with wash hand basin in the attached room. All bed linen and towels are provided for each stay. If visitors to The Old Schoolhouse would like to get more hands on with the croft work, then just ask your hosts Alistair and Emma who are always happy to share their knowledge of the area and passion for their croft with guests. In the winter and spring, you can help feed the sheep and all year round they keep free range chickens.
