The Green Lodge Aviemore
Unforgettable family get togethers in an amazing woodland location.
Your holiday begins the moment you arrive with everything you need for an unforgettable and care-free family holiday, set in beautiful woodland in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and just five minutes' drive from the centre of Aviemore.
Feel calm from the moment you pull up in front of the house and breathe in the sweet forest air - your arrival may briefly disturb the red squirrels on the bird feeders but they'll soon be back! Let the kids loose to explore the woods on the network of footpaths surrounding the lodge while you unpack - there are so many facilities within an easy walk that you'll hardly need the car again.
Your highland home from home has been furnished specially for family gatherings: lovely shared spaces with lots of comfy seating, and four gorgeously grown-up bedrooms with views to either woods or mountains. Beautifully furnished throughout with special attention to the finer details, Green Lodge will particularly appeal to all generations holidaying together, especially guests who enjoy active days and fabulously comfortable nights.

A secret walled garden reveals an enchanting Victorian pavillion with private heated pool - a wildly romantic property with grounds bursting with wildflowers; take cocktails on the lawn reminisce of a bygone era.
Within the original walled garden of Galloway House, former home to the Earls of Galloway, now part of the policies of Garlieston House, stands an elegant Victorian cottage (sleeping 5 guests) with a large grassed lawn, mature shrubs and trees, herbaceous borders, and open air heated swimming pool. Just 5 minutes' walk away lies Rigg Bay, a private, secluded, sandy beach and beyond the garden walls lies the tranquil arboretum of Galloway House Gardens.
Inside Pavilion Cottage you'll find a light and comfortable sitting area with contemporary furnishings throughout, upholstered sofas and a full-length window seat (seating for 12) with television and DVD player. Double Georgian doors open out onto the walled garden with small terraced seating area - the perfect place to enjoy an alfresco meal. There is a spacious dining area with original art, beamed double height ceiling and extending table for family gatherings. For cosy nights in there's a crackling log burner and the well equipped kitchen has a fridge-freezer, multi-oven range style cooker with grill, five ceramic hot plates, microwave and a Nespresso compatible coffee machine.
On the ground floor laid with antique stone over underfloor heating there are two bedrooms, one double and one zip and link, which can be configured as a double or twin on request with direct ramped access to the garden. There is a large walk-in shower room with monsoon shower head, WC and washbasin. Take the open staircase leading up to the galleried landing you'll find a snug 'loft room' with original beams a single bed. All rooms have garden views.

This amazing eco-retreat is a stunning, contemporary, new-build with fantastic green credentials; a sedum-roof that changes colour with the seasons, full wildlife immersion and wood burner perfect after a day out exploring the Ettrick and Yarrow Valleys.
The Green House is a stunning purpose-built self-catering holiday home, located on a working smallholding in Ettrickbridge in the beautiful countryside of the Scottish Borders. Based on low carbon Passive Haus principles, it combines subtle cutting edge eco technologies with high quality finishes and luxurious furnishings.
Clad in glowing larch, the sedum roof changes colour with the seasons and blends beautifully with the stunning landscape and rolling hills that surround you. Unobtrusive solar panels nestle in the foliage and high tech heat-exchange system ensures the property remains at the perfect comfortable temperature all year round. All one level with large triple glass windows, oak doors and flooring throughout the quality fittings provide a beautiful living space just perfect for relaxing on holiday. There's a contemporary wood burner great for curling up beside, after a day's adventure on the hills. We love the rocking chair picture perfect positioning in front of the huge window in the lounge where wildlife and birdlife activity can be viewed in their natural surrounds - the owners have thoughtfully provided binoculars and a wildlife log for guests to fill in as they choose. Outside there's an orchard several varieties of apples, plums and soft fruit bushes and a small apiary of native European black honeybees, which both ensure great fruit pollination and also provide us with a modest annual crop of wildflower honey. The property is set within a working smallholding where they keep a small flock of Shetland sheep and they also have free-ranging hens and will supply guests with newly laid eggs and honey, when available perfect to enjoy for lazy brunches or morning breakfasting on the deck with outdoor furniture, charcoal barbecue and grassed areas just beyond.
