About this listing
This Bothy in Aberdeenshire will provide a fantastic getaway retreat for 2 people, east facing allowing you to wake up and enjoy a stunning sunrise, with your own private Swedish log burning hot tub.
The Perfect Place To Enjoy The Sunrise.
The Bothy was opened in the summer of 2020, following a complete refurbishment; floors, ceiling, the lot. It is the perfect manifestation of our vision for Glen Dye; comfortable, characterful and finished to the highest standard, from the handmade tiles in the kitchen to the Margaret Howell lamps and the art on the walls. In the garden we’ve built an outdoor kitchen (made traditionally, using no nails) complete with Green Egg barbecue and there’s a private Swedish wood fired hot tub, too.
The Bothy sleeps two in a king sized bed; there is a kitchen/sitting room/dining room and a bathroom with a shower. The Bothy is unusual at Glen Dye, being the only property to face east, making it a perfect place to enjoy the sunrise. It sits adjacent to The Old Lodge which dates from the 1700s and is the oldest house on Glen Dye by some way; it was almost certainly built as accommodation for a caretaker at The Old Lodge and in later years (until the 1960s) it was home to a forester who worked at the estate sawmill.
As a guest at The Bothy you also have full access to The Glen Dye Arms, a BYOB pub complete with roaring log fire, ancient bar and record player. You can also use our amazing wood-fired sauna, which was custom-built for us in Wales. And we have endless vegetables and eggs for you to purchase from our very own garden.
