Sanderling

Sanderling is a pretty coastal cottage that has retained its character and charm having been renovated to an exceptionally high standard with modern amenities throughout. The cottage is one of the oldest buildings in the area; it was originally a single storey croft and forge. Some years later it was turned into a small tea room offering refreshments to walkers passing by to enjoy a break from their excursion along the stunning cliff walk which passes by. Gorgeously grown up, it has now been renovated into a heartwarming holiday cottage on the coast that sleeps up to four guests. The cottage is well suited to families with babes in arms or little guests over 4 years old this is due to the beds being twin beds and the slopes and drops in the garden.

In the master bedroom there’s a king size bed and there’s also a comfortable twin room ideal for the littlies in your family. Relax in the luxurious double ended roll top bath with separate shower, perfect for ending a day’s adventure with a relaxing long soak. For the cooks in the family we know you’ll love the kitchen with all the modern appliances; cooker, halogen hob, microwave, retro fridge freezer and a dishwasher. Dine alfresco on the BBQ or sit and enjoy the views of the Solway where you can listen to the sea. Wake up beautifully and in the morning take time out with a coffee in the conservatory and enjoy gorgeous coastal views before heading out to explore this rugged, breath-taking part of the country. Inside, many of the rooms enjoy a stunning outlooking at the surrounding landscape or out to sea.

Walkers Paradise

Located in a small hamlet consisting of only 6 properties, Sanderling Cottage truly allows visitors a chance to get away from it all. Positioned on the coast with immediate access to stunning coastal walks, those staying at Sanderling can readily enjoy the breath-taking scenery on offer. Sanderling is on the Kippford to  Sandyhills coastal path for those who want to enjoy the nearby cliff walks.  The cottage is located on the Solway Coast, an area of outstanding natural beauty and is an idea base for those who want to explore both the Solway Coastline and the surrounding Galloway countryside. Along with the Port O’Warren beach, Portling beach is also on the doorstep. The beaches of Kippford, Rockcliffe and Sandyhills are close by.  Sanderling is one of the properties that make up the hamlet of Port O’Warren which is an ideal location for those who want to explore Dumfries and Galloway. Whilst the hamlet is remote, nearby towns are not too far a distance away for a wide selection of amenities.

Rates:

Weekly bookings from a Friday from Easter to November from £709 per week. November to April short stays available three and four nights. One pet most welcome at £25 per week or £20 per short stay. Pet house rules apply.
