Pine Lodge
Beautifully made using Finnish polar pine and slate roof your Scandinavian style guest accommodation includes two comfortable double rooms one with en-suite bathroom and the other offers a bath and wc. There is a further twin bedroom, sleeping 6 guests in total comfort. The living space complete with flat screen TV, Wifi, offers a bright sunlight filled open plan living area and a dining area with fully fitted and equipped kitchen that includes a hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Your accommodation is mostly ground floor based with just a cosy snug room in the mezzanine perfect for guests looking for a quiet reading nook to unwind. The lodge is wheelchair accessible with a ramp to the property entrance and inside it is also accessible across the entire ground floor (excepting mezzanine level). The downstairs shower room is also large enough for a wheelchair to turn full circle. There is underfloor heating throughout the downstairs.
After a day’s activities why not relax in the large outdoor hot tub for guests use. Don’t forget to bring some food for the BBQ! Evening drinks or morning coffee are best enjoyed on the spacious veranda outside with gorgeous views of vast grounds in all directions.

Pine Lodge is only an hour from the centre of Edinburgh, with its Castle, museums, theatres, bustling restaurants and world-class shopping and of course the UNESCO World Heritage sites of the Old and New Towns in Edinburgh. Edinburgh also boasts a long list of events during the summer which complement the world-famous Edinburgh Festival and Fringe Festival. In Dalkeith you have lots of historic attractions which include its medieval burgh complete with palace where Bonnie Prince Charlie stayed during the Jacobite Rebellion and Country Park. It also includes a large adventure playground and many activities for families and children. You can’t help be intrigued by Rosslyn Chapel made famous by the Da Vinci Code with its connections to the Knights Templar!
Whether you want an active holiday, plan to combine a country retreat with some shopping and culture, or just want to enjoy some peace and quiet in a beautiful setting, Pine Lodge is an ideal holiday or weekend break destination. Offering both rugged hills and rolling farmland, and a short drive from the beaches and links of Scotland’s Gold Coast there is still something for everyone. Walking of all levels is available in the Pentland Hills Regional Park gentle strolls can also be enjoyed at Vogrie Country Park just a mile down the road. Vogrie has activities for all ages with its excellent Cedar Wood Café, adventure play area, toddler play park for younger children and 9-hole golf course.
The closest town is Gorebridge, a delightful former mining settlement that became a popular holiday destination in the Victorian era, when people first started to escape the cities for a holiday in the countryside and a look at some beautiful scenery. As, of course, many still do today! The local station at Gorebridge reopened in 2015 as part of the new Borders Railway project and connects to Edinburgh Waverley in 25 minutes. For an evening out, a celebratory dinner or relaxing meal with friends there’s a great selection of dining out options form Gigi’s Italian in Bonnyrigg, Dalhousie Castle restaurant, The Sun Inn Newtongrange, Bombay Lounge Dalkeith or The Stair Arms not to mention some great cafes and places for coffee along the way.
Theres no questions that this relaxed location is the perfect pad to spend time with family and friends. It’s close enough to the culture, attractions fun stuff you want from your holiday location but just far enough from the hustle and bustle to create special memories that will last a lifetime.
