About this listing
Gloriously situated in Glen Rosa, just outside of Brodick on the Island of Arran, just off the west coast of Scotland this is a two bedroom, five-star self-catering cottage. Privately owned and independently managed to the highest standard. The quality and luxury are matched by the magnificent location – one of the best on Arran. Built in 1825, Glen Rosa Stables still retains its rural and rustic charm whilst incorporating modern touches, which have been sensitively added. The cottage has its own gardens, which are large and private, ideal for relaxing and taking in the spectacular scenery. It is a romantic, unspoiled and tranquil retreat – ideal for your holiday, whether it is for a honeymoon; anniversary, return to nature, or just a memorable holiday. Glen Rosa Stables is just perfect!
Glen Rosa is a rural haven just outside the main port village of Brodick. It is ideally located for the holidaymaker who wishes to escape from it all but would like the convenience of the shops, pubs and restaurants close at hand, whilst holidaying in a beautiful and tranquil location. The Island of Arran is famous around the world for its geographical importance and Glen Rosa is known as one of the best examples of a glacial valley in the U.K.
We’ve given a lot of thought into making the interior of the cottage just as special as its amazing location. The sitting room is beautifully decorated – with wooden flooring throughout, two French doors (opening out to front and back gardens), plus a stunning wood burning stove, original art, antiques, FreeSat+, Netflix, DVD, unrestricted wi-fi throughout, Marshall sound link and digital radio. Occasionally it can rain on Arran – if it keeps you indoors, then a good selection of DVDs, books and games should keep you entertained.
The combination of pure Arran air, one king size and two single beds (can be zip linked for super king) should guarantee a most peaceful slumber. Take your pick – let the rain shower in the wet room bring you round or take the gentle route by pampering yourself in the large bath. Then enjoy your breakfast outside; both bedrooms have French doors which open out to a large and private patio. Here you can watch the sunrise over Goatfell and listen to the stream gurgle gently away.
Meals are a pleasure to prepare in the stylish galley kitchen – fitted with integrated appliances: oven, induction hob, washing machine, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, bread maker, slow cooker and a full complement of kitchen utensils. Coffee lovers don’t despair – there is a Cafetière and a Nespresso machine; it will make the most amazing coffee at the touch of a button (ten capsules supplied).
Glen Rosa Stables sleeps four (five if using the airbed). Dogs are most welcome but please let us know in advance. Glen Rosa Stables is strictly no smoking.
Of course, a really good self – catering cottage should have plenty of private outside space and Glen Rosa Stables certainly does.
A large and private patio, with a stone stairway, leading on to a tree lined lawn with amazing views and a stream. It’s perfect for dogs, sunny day lunches and barbecues (there is one) or relaxing with an Arran malt or a beer from the local brewery – maybe some wine or juice from the local supermarket with the fire pit blazing. Oh….there is also a front garden, where you can sit back and enjoy the views of the mountains, sea and forest.
Private, off-road parking is available for two cars. Glen Rosa Stables is in a rural and pastoral location, right next to Arran’s mountains, but we are also only two and a half miles from Brodick pier and two miles from Brodick Village. The nearest pub and restaurant is just over a mile away, a twenty minute walk!
