About this listing
Magnificent views and relaxing accommodations are only the start at Clickety-Clack Cottage. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully-stocked kitchen, and a pleasant garden complete with outdoor seating mean that you will have everything you need for your self-catering holiday. From the comfort of the sun-bathed lounge, you can bask in loch and mountain views. You will also have a front-row seat as the Jacobite steam train made famous by the Harry Potter films chugs by on its twice-daily journey.
Built in 2020, Clickety-Clack Cottage is bursting with modern luxuries. Enjoy utter bliss with underfloor heating in every room. Clickety-Clack Cottage’s single-floor design is perfect for those traveling with young children, and there is wheelchair access towards the rear of the cottage. Clickety-Clack also offers free Wi-Fi, smart televisions, and Sky TV to keep up with your favourite shows.
An open-plan kitchen, dining area, and lounge ensure that everyone can spend plenty of time together throughout your holiday. A cathedral ceiling and 12-foot windows overlooking Loch Eil, Ben Nevis, and peaceful pastureland ensure breath-taking beauty throughout your stay. Sink into the sofa or armchairs to witness the Jacobite steam train and other West Highland Railway trains as they pass very near the cottage. Dig into home-cooked meals or takeaway at the dining table set for four. When you aren’t watching trains, your party will be able to enjoy a cosy wood-burning stove, flat screen television, and radio with a CD collection. The lounge is also stocked with a wealth of games, books, and maps.
Down the hall, you will find two bedrooms. The master bedroom offers a king-sized bed, an en-suite shower room, and a walk-out patio. Here, you can savour views of the river, mountains, and catch a glimpse of the train track. Step outside to enjoy the fresh air, picnic table, and outdoor seating. The other bedroom is outfitted with two twin beds and features views of the loch, mountain, and train tracks. Both bedrooms include fitted wardrobes, hairdryers, and a helpful “in case you need” pack in the cabinets.
Both bathrooms offer the little luxuries that transform a vacation into something special. Walk-in showers offer the perfect way to relax at the end of a long day. Pamper yourself with handmade soaps from The Highland Soap Company and sustainably-sourced toilet rolls. Your party will also have access to a separate laundry area with a washer, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board, and overhead pulley for hanging clothes.
When you are ready to begin exploring the western Scottish Highlands, Clickety-Clack is in an ideal location. The cottage is only a two-minute drive to the Loch Eil train station, where you can ride to Fort William, Glenfinnan, and Mallaig. However, as the Loch Eil station is not a scheduled stop, you will need to use the platform phone to call the signal box. From Clickety-Clack, you can explore Glenfinnan, stop in at Inverlochy Castle, and visit the West Highland Museum. If you fancy a day trip, the islands of Canna, Eigg, Muck, Mull, Rum, and Skye are only a few hours away. For snowsports, mountain biking, and an unforgettable mountain gondola ride, check out the Nevis Range Mountain Experience.
