"The height of contemporary luxury in a
peaceful location surrounded by stunning Scottish countryside -t his house blew
me away. The people who designed it have amazing style and vision, the way it
was refurbished with unique and high quality materials made the experience of
staying here very special. "
"We enjoyed the vast amounts of space to relax, to eat together at the amazing table, the ease that we could cater in the state of the art kitchen where nothing has been forgotten. So often in a holiday property something is compromised but here nothing was, it was designed with love and felt like a home. The bedrooms are huge with plenty of space to relax, each one has its own fabulous bathroom with candles, lovely bath products. A second lounge/TV den upstairs was perfect for the younger members of the party. Special mention to Ballintaggart local caterers/hotel/restaurant business who provided catering services, including dinners, breakfasts and packed lunches with delicious local Scottish farm produce. Their staff were professional and friendly and provided two barbecues, two sit down three course catered dinners and other meals we could cook ourselves, this was the finishing touch and meant all we had to worry about was enjoying ourselves."
"Excellent all round for large groups - As a party of 12 we stayed in Dun Allunin for a week in August. The building is spacious. The restoration and decor are beautifully done, and a pleasure to be around. Lots of good design ideas to borrow! John was super helpful from booking through to being there. We used the Ballintaggart team for a full week of catering. They were excellent. The food was great, the provisions interesting and reliable, and the service both overall and in delivering various meals was perfect. Really good team to work with.We used the house as a base for climbing and walking in both Cairngorm and in Glencoe, both of which are c70-90mins away. We also fished and walked locally. The settlement history in the Tay Valley was interesting, and the Crannog is worth a trip. This was the most successful and least stressful time we have hosted a family group like this, and I would strongly recommend the house and the caterers."
"Truly breath-taking - This house is truly breath-taking. Twenty of us came to this beautiful location to spoil a special bride to be and the owner pulled out all the stops to ensure our experience was tailored to all of our needs. Every room is luxurious, the finishings are of a high standard and the views are stunning"
"Elegance and grandeur, and a gentle soul! Dun Aluinn is truly a grand house, and the experience of staying there is hard to put into words. This beautiful old building has had many lives, from beloved family run hotel to boys boarding school where the inmates took chunks out of the mahogany panelling and doors. All of this gloriously rich history adds layers to her now carefully restored state. There is no doubt that what you get in Dun Aluinn is a lesson in design that almost aches in it's perfection. Nothing has been rushed, and every carefully placed item has a story; the art deco drinks cabinet from Barcelona, the red velvet curtains from Susie's Aunt's house, the shell chandelier picked up for nothing in the Irish Midlands. There is not one superfluous detail. The design and style is at one with the gentle soul of this house and the experience is ethereal and total. There are countless reasons to stay in a house of grandeur and luxury, but not many will give you an experience that will stay with you for long after."
"Exceptional 5 star experience in a beautiful location - We had a wonderful time in Dun Aluinn. The house was designed to the highest standards, every detail was designed to compliment the refurbishment with no expense spared. We lived in the lap of luxury for a couple of days and felt very pampered in our surrounds. It was a short walk to the charming village of Aberfeldy which offered an assortment of coffee shops, restaurants and attractions. I would definitely recommend the Habitat Cafe for your morning coffee. There is so much to explore in the stunning countryside and surrounds. Our hosts John and Susie were so helpful and we really appreciated our time spent here. I would highly recommend Dun Aluinn for an escape to the country and hopefully we will get back there again soon to enjoy more treats!!"
"Best luxury fishing lodge for the River Tay - Dun Aluinn is a wonderful property. Stylish and relaxed. Quiet yet within easy reach. It exudes attention to detail. The decor inside is unique in every room and the owners have clearly invested, time, love and capital into creating a wonderful relaxing house. You will encounter the comfiest beds and the best nights sleep. This is again because of the attention to detail. The sumptuous hand made mattresses were sourced from Ireland after the owners had discovered the company when staying in a 5-star hotel. The decor is unique throughout the nine bedrooms and we had a tour of them all. Our room was delightful, the bathroom would not look out of place in one of the world top hotels. Catering during our stay was provided from Ballintaggart Farm, with wonderful local produce paired with fine wines. Butler service was also provided, and we also enjoyed cocktails from a beautiful vintage drinks cabinet. The house is close to the river Tay and a rich seam of fishing venues for trout, pike, and grayling as well as salmon. In summary, this property is one of the best in Scotland. No doubt."
"No expense spared - I stayed at Dun Aluinn in November and I have to say it far exceeded my expectations. Wonderful location, amazing house and fabulous attention to detail. Certainly no expense spared. Everything was catered for and loved the finer touches in the bedrooms and bathrooms. They have great catering partners too at Ballintaggart. It was a full immersive luxury experience and I would certainly recommend it. Thank you!"
